Flour and boiling water: airy Uzbek flatbreads in 15 minutes – a hit with any meal
Take 700 g of flour, 500 ml of boiling water, a teaspoon of salt, a tablespoon of sugar, and butter for greasing. You'll need a little flour or sugar for dusting.
How to cook
Mix flour with salt and sugar, pour in boiling water, and knead into a soft dough. Let it rest for 15 minutes, then divide into 8 pieces. Roll each piece very thinly, grease with butter, sprinkle with flour, and fold into a packet. Join the pieces in pairs, form into four flat cakes, and roll again. Fry in butter, covered, for about 5 minutes on each side.
Helpful advice
Grease the finished flatbreads with butter immediately after frying. Serve them hot instead of bread or with sweet tea.
