Open Kitchen Weekly Menu from September 14th to 20th

We're starting the third week of September with a weekly menu designed to help you get back into your routine without too much fuss in the kitchen.

We're also starting to make room in our shopping baskets for seasonal produce like figs and pumpkin, which is becoming increasingly common in markets and fruit shops. As always, these are suggestions you can adapt depending on what you have at home, the time you have available, or the recipes you feel like making.

Food

For Monday, we suggest starting with a fig and feta salad from Karlos Arguiñano. It's a unique salad, made with seasonal fruit, that pairs beautifully with the salty touch of the cheese. To complete the meal, prepare a salmon fillet in an air fryer—quick and easy to make.

Cena

For Monday's dinner, a pumpkin soup. It's a simple, smooth recipe, perfect for these days when the temperatures are starting to change. Little by little, we're craving soups and creams again, especially for a light dinner.

Food

For Tuesday, we suggest a baked rice with vegetables as a first course. It's an easy, nutritious, and simple recipe. To accompany it, we recommend some air-fried chicken thighs, which are juicy and a convenient way to round out the meal.

Cena

For dinner, salmon en papillote. It's an easy, healthy, and quick fish recipe. Cooking it wrapped helps the salmon retain its juices, making it perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Food

For Wednesday, start with a sardine pâté. It's a visually appealing, simple idea, perfect for whetting the appetite. For the main course, grilled leeks with pumpkin purée—two light dishes that complement each other beautifully.

Cena

For Wednesday dinner, a baked potato omelet. The potato omelet is one of the most popular recipes in Spanish cuisine, but this version is lighter and easier to prepare. You can serve it with a simple salad.

Food

To whet our appetites on Thursday, some grilled white asparagus. For the main course, we move into the realm of legumes with lentils and chorizo. A homemade recipe, easy to make and perfect for gradually getting back into hearty, comforting dishes.

Cena

For dinner, a zucchini cream soup. It's a light, economical, and very easy recipe to prepare. You can have it warm if it's still hot, or serve it hotter if the evening gets cooler.

Food

For Friday, start with a country-style salad to share. For the main course, tuna with onion sauce and avocado vinaigrette, a recipe by Karlos Arguiñano. It's an easy and original grilled fish dish, perfect for everyday meals. You can also prepare the same sauce with any other fish you have on hand.

Cena

For Friday night dinner, a mushroom pizza. It's a simple recipe, easy to share, and perfect for ending the week with a more relaxed meal. You can make the pizza dough from scratch or use a store-bought base if you're short on time.

Weekend Menu

For the weekend, we suggest two simple appetizers. You can prepare some crispy, homemade chicken and ham croquettes, or a fresh shrimp salad, perfect for still remembering the flavors of summer.

For main courses, you can choose between salmon, prawn, and mango skewers—a visually appealing and fruity dish—or a soupy rice with lobster. The latter is a more special seafood option, perfect for a weekend meal.

Breakfast and snack ideas

For breakfast, you can make a lemon cake in an air fryer. It's a simple way to make a homemade cake if you don't have an oven or don't want to turn it on. Another option is a classic chocolate cake, always a tempting way to start the day with something sweet.

For an afternoon snack, try some pumpkin coconut macaroons, perfect with coffee or tea. You could also make quick and easy shortbread cookies, or try any of these empanada recipes if you're looking for a different kind of treat.

Dessert suggestions

For dessert, a fig biscuit. It's a perfect recipe for using this seasonal fruit and a great way to gradually say goodbye to the cold desserts of summer.

You can also prepare desserts in small glasses, which are very convenient for serving and sharing. There are classic versions, such as rice pudding or flan, and more modern ones with fruit mousses.

And if you're still missing no-bake cakes, a chilled chocolate cake is a great option. It's easy to make, can be prepared in advance, and is sure to please chocolate lovers.
