Blender best in test 2026

The KitchenAid Artisan K400 is our top choice for those who use the blender frequently and want to be able to switch between smoothies, frozen ingredients and crushed ice. It is a test winner at Bäst-i-test.se, but the price difference to cheaper alternatives is large.

We have not tested the machines ourselves. The selection is based on published practical tests, manufacturers' product information, user manuals and Swedish price examples. A central basis is Bäst-i-test.se's comparison of six blenders, updated in January 2026. The recommendations also weigh in on how much the models cost and what limitations affect use at home.

The prices below are examples checked on September 20, 2026, including VAT. They are not guaranteed lowest prices. Color, shipping and stock status may affect which purchase is best when you order.

KitchenAid Artisan K400 – the main choice for the frequent user

The K400 is best suited when the blender has a recurring place in cooking. In Bäst-i-test.se's practical comparison, it gets 4.5 out of 5, with smooth mixing and effective ice crushing as strengths. Size and weight pull in the other direction. Test.se has also tried the model with a smoothie of frozen ingredients.

The Swedish model in the 5KSB4026 series has a 1.4 liter glass jug and a metal motor base. You get five speeds, a pulse function and programs for smoothies, ice drinks and crushed ice. The manufacturer allows crushed ice without added liquid in the intended program. This is useful if you want crushed ice for serving, not just mixing ice with drinks.

The large jug may also be used with hot ingredients according to the instructions. The lid and lid seal must be in place, and the speed must be increased gradually from a low level. The same permission does not apply to the small accessory jugs for personal portions and smaller quantities. The K400 does not have a function that boils the soup for you.

The jug is dishwasher safe and there is a cleaning cycle. However, you need to decide how the machine will be stored. A heavy blender becomes more cumbersome if it has to be lifted out of a base cabinet every morning. The jug is also smaller than the Electrolux, despite the sturdy construction.

A controlled price flow showed around 3,700 kronor. This makes the K400 a purchase for those who will use its width often. For occasional breakfast smoothies, the additional cost is harder to justify.

Electrolux Explore 6 – most affordable in our selection

The Electrolux Explore 6 E6TB1-6ST combines a 1.75 liter jug with a significantly lower price point: SEK 1,299 for a new machine at Elgiganten. It is primarily this combination that makes it our affordable all-round choice.

In Bäst-i-test.se's comparison, it gets the same rating as the K400, 4.5 out of 5. Frozen fruit works well with enough liquid. A sluggish attachment for the jug is a practical disadvantage.

The jug is made of borosilicate glass and the motor's rated power is 1,400 watts. Five manual speeds and pulse are complemented by programs for smoothies, ice crushing and soup. The lid needs to be locked for the machine to start. The larger jug can be an advantage when several people want to have smoothies at the same time, but it also means more glasses to lift and handle when washing dishes.

Explore 6 is designed for hot blends. However, the soup function does not mean that the machine has a heater that cooks the ingredients. Follow the model's temperature and filling limits when blending hot foods; the program name does not indicate that the jug can be filled with boiling soup.

The jug is dishwasher safe. If you usually clean immediately after blending, it is still worth checking the edges of the lid before putting everything away. Liquid circulating in the jug does not automatically reach everywhere.

For those who primarily want to make smoothies, use frozen berries and occasionally blend a soup, this is a well-motivated alternative to the K400. The observed price weighs heavily in the recommendation.

Smeg BLF03 – for cold drinks and a lighter jug

Smeg BLF03 is an alternative for those who want to avoid lifting a glass jug. The jug holds 1.5 liters and is made of Tritan Renew. The machine has 800 watts of rated power, four speeds and programs for smoothies, green smoothies and ice crushing, as well as auto cleaning. Bäst-i-test.se describes good results for smoothies and ice.

The most important limitation is the temperature. According to Smeg's instructions, hot food should be allowed to cool to room temperature before blending. The BLF03 is therefore not a good choice if you want to pour a hot vegetable soup from the pot, blend it and serve it straight away.

The same instructions state that the jug should not be washed in the dishwasher. The lid and dosing cap, however, can be washed in the dishwasher. This is a decisive difference between the K400 and the Explore 6, especially if you choose the plastic jug to make everyday life easier. Light weight and easy washing are two different characteristics.

The manufacturer's price for the cream-white BLF03CREU was SEK 2,995 at the time of the check. A smaller 0.6 liter Bottle to Go is available as an option and costs extra.

Smeg is therefore a choice for cold drinks where the weight of the jug and the appearance of the machine may be considered. At the listed price, you need to be satisfied that both hot ingredients and washing the jug are eliminated.

OBH Nordica Perfect Mix Cook – when the blender also makes the soup.

The Perfect Mix Cook LH835DS0 stands out from the rest with its active heating. It can both heat and blend the contents, and has ten automatic programs for smooth soup, soup with chunks, smoothies and ice, among other things.

This is our option based on the soup-making features. The model is not included in the six-model comparison behind the test reviews above, and we have no corresponding practical basis to rank its mixing results against the K400 or Explore 6.

The usable volume of the glass jug is 1.75 liters for cold mixtures and 1.4 liters for hot. This difference matters when you are planning a batch of soup. You cannot start from the largest volume figure and fill the same amount regardless of the program.

The machine has a rated power of 1,400 watts, removable blades and a dedicated cleaning program. Follow the care instructions for your specific Cook model when cleaning the heated jug. Do not assume that the same cleaning method will work for a regular glass jug without electric heating.

OBH Nordica's price was 1,953 kronor at the time of the check. The function is most interesting if you actually want to cook soup in the machine and reduce the transfer between pot and jug. If you already cook everything on the stove, or almost only make cold drinks, the heating becomes less important.

Hot soup and cooking soup are two different things

A regular blender that is approved for hot ingredients will help you smooth out already cooked food. The vegetables are first cooked in a pot and then transferred to the jug. The K400 and Explore 6 fall into this type of use, with the limitations of each model.

A blender with active heating can instead handle the cooking according to its programs and recipes. That's the extra feature you get with Perfect Mix Cook. Check in particular the allowed volume for hot contents; it may be lower than the capacity for cold drinks.

If your main need is to blend soup directly in the pot, a hand blender may be a more practical tool. This will save you from having to pour the contents over. The jug blender becomes more relevant when smoothies, frozen ingredients and ice are also recurring tasks.

Smoothies, frozen berries and crushed ice have different requirements

A smoothie with soft fruit and plenty of liquid says very little about how a blender will work with a dense mixture of frozen ingredients, so base your decision on what you usually put in the pitcher.

  • Soft fruit and liquid: Here you need, above all, the right capacity and a machine that is easy to use and wash every day.
  • Frozen berries and fruit pieces: The amount of liquid affects whether the contents can circulate. Simply increasing the speed will not always dissolve a mixture that is standing still.
  • Pure ice crusher: Check that the model allows ice without liquid and how much quantity can be run. An ice program and a good result with ice are not the same thing.
  • Thick Blends and Nut Butters: Don't assume that a good smoothie review also proves that the machine can handle thick blends. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the task.

Also, fill the jug in the order specified in the user manual. For example, for the BLF03, Smeg describes liquid first and frozen ingredients or ice later. This is more useful than trying to compensate for an incorrectly filled jug with a longer run time.

How much do watts and sound level say?

The power in watts is a description of the machine, not a rating of how smooth your smoothie will be. The design of the blades, how the contents circulate, the amount of ingredients and added liquid also affect the result. Therefore, compare practical observations for the task you need help with, instead of automatically choosing the highest wattage.

This also applies when you compare Smeg's 800 watts with Electrolux's stated 1,400 watts. The numbers alone are not enough to determine which machine gives the best results with a particular mixture.

Sound is another important everyday issue, but the data does not provide support for selecting the quietest blender. Sound values stated by tests and manufacturers are not guaranteed to be comparable. Different raw materials, speeds and measurement conditions make a simple ranking uncertain.

Expect distinct noise during use, especially with ice and hard ingredients. For those of you who make breakfast while others sleep, the noise level is worth investigating in a demonstration of the current model and with similar content to what you use yourself.

Check the model number before hunting for a bargain

OBH Nordica's various Perfect Mix models show why the product name is not always enough. The regular Perfect Mix gets a budget award in Bäst-i-test.se's comparison, but there is not a sufficiently clear model code to safely connect the test sample to today's various store versions.

A low price for the Tritan version should not be read as an offer on the glass version. A review for an older Perfect Mix cannot automatically be transferred to the Cook or Classic.

Compare model code, jug material and features on the store page itself. Price value depends on the version you can actually buy, not just on what award a similar product name has received.

Choose your pitcher according to how you use and wash it

A larger jug is useful for multiple servings, but check how much you usually make at a time. The K400 holds 1.4 litres, the Smeg 1.5 litres and the Explore 6 1.75 litres. For hot food, a special filling limit may apply. Just because the machine takes up a lot of space on the counter does not mean it has the largest usable volume.

Glass is heavier to lift and can break. Plastic makes the jug lighter, which can play a big role when it comes to pouring and washing. However, the material name does not determine whether hot ingredients are allowed or whether the jug can go in the dishwasher. This needs to be checked for each model.

Also consider where the blender will be placed. A machine that is used daily needs to be easy to access, and it should be possible to lift the jug and lid off without the overhead cabinets getting in the way. Storage and handling can affect usage more than an extra program.

Cleaning programs are a help with residue inside the jug. They do not replace checking the lid, edges and seals. It is advisable to clean after use, before the contents have time to dry, and unplug before disassembling parts. Check which parts can be washed in the dishwasher before you put them in; the jug and lid may have different care instructions.
