Brown Butter Roasted Garlic Broccoli

A simple fall side that I could honestly serve with just about anything.

Brown Butter Roasted Garlic Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 8 cups broccoli florets
  • 8 large cloves garlic, smashed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • sea salt and black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 4 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • flaky sea salt

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 425° F.2. On a baking sheet, toss the broccoli and garlic with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Roast for 20 minutes.3. Toss the broccoli, add the butter, thyme, and nutmeg. Roast another 10 to 15 minutes, until the broccoli is tender with crisp, caramelized edges, the garlic is soft, and the butter has browned.4. Serve the broccoli and garlic with a squeeze of lemon juice. Finish with flaky sea salt and black pepper. Serve warm.

Notes

Note: For extra crunch, finish with buttered toasted breadcrumbs or toasted pine nuts just before serving.
