Baklava oats

Add the oats, crushed Weet-Bix, milk, honey, cinnamon, pistachios, walnuts and orange blossom water to a medium microwave-safe ramekin or mug. Stir well to combine.

  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ⅓ cup crushed Weet-Bix
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1½ tbsp honey
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped pistachios
  • ½ tbsp finely chopped walnuts
  • ½ tsp orange blossom water
  • Crushed pistachios
  • Crushed walnuts
  • Extra drizzle of honey
  • Orange or mandarin segments
Method · 2 min
  1. Add the oats, crushed Weet-Bix, milk, honey, cinnamon, pistachios, walnuts and orange blossom water to a medium microwave-safe ramekin or mug. Stir well to combine.
  2. Microwave on high for 1½ minutes.
  3. Stir, then microwave for a further 30 seconds, or until thick and creamy.
  4. Let the oats stand for 30 seconds before topping with extra pistachios, walnuts, a drizzle of honey and fresh orange or mandarin segments, if using.

  • Microwave on high for 1½ minutes.
  • Stir, then microwave for a further 30 seconds, or until thick and creamy.
  • Let the oats stand for 30 seconds before topping with extra pistachios, walnuts, a drizzle of honey and fresh orange or mandarin segments, if using.

Cook’s Notes

Oven temperatures are for conventional; if using fan-forced (convection), reduce the temperature by 20˚C. | We use Australian tablespoons and cups: 1 teaspoon equals 5 ml; 1 tablespoon equals 20 ml; 1 cup equals 250 ml. | All herbs are fresh (unless specified) and cups are lightly packed. | All vegetables are medium size and peeled, unless specified. | All eggs are 55-60 g, unless specified.
