Coffee Granita with Sweet Condensed Milk (Granizado de Café con Lechera)

Simple coffee granita drizzled with sweet condensed milk recipe.

By Cellar Editors · 26 Aug 2026 · Colombia · 2 min ·

This is a delicious after meal dessert or snack during the warm months. "Copitos de Nieve, granizados or raspaos" (Sno-Cones) topped with sweet condensed milk are a popular Colombian street food all year round.

In Italy this dessert is known as granita and it's basically a frozen treat made with simple ingredients. I have the best memories from high school around this treat. So, I created my adult version made with coffee and topped with sweet condensed milk.

This is the perfect ending to any summer meal!

Ingredients You'll Need

The printable recipe card with exact amounts and directions to make coffee granita is below. Coffee: Use your favorite coffee brand and flavor to make this dessert.

Just be sure to make it strong. Sugar: you can adjust the amount to your taste. Sweet Condensed Milk: I love the addition of sweet condensed milk to icy desserts.

How to Make Coffee Granita

  • Combine black coffee and sugar until the sugar melts.
  • Pour mixture into a medium glass pan and place on level shelf in the freezer for about 20 minutes.
  • When the mixture starts to freeze around the edges of the dish, stir it with a fork, then return the dish to the freezer.
  • Stir the granita every 20 to 25 minutes until the grains are completely frozen and the texture is fluffy.
  • Scoop into serving cups and top with sweet condensed milk.
