October is a month packed with festivals in Lazio, with events that take you outside of Rome to discover local products, traditional recipes, and folk festivals. From the villages of the Roman province to towns in other parts of Lazio, the calendar offers opportunities for a day trip with tastings, markets, music, and events celebrating local specialties. Here are the festivals to mark in your calendars for October 2026, including historic events and festivals celebrating seasonal produce.
Festivals in Lazio October 2026
Porcini Mushroom Tacchie Festival in Bellegra (RM) | October 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11. The Porcini Mushroom Tacchie Festival returns to Bellegra, now in its 18th year, taking place on October 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11. The event centers on tacchie, fresh handmade pasta made with water, flour, and eggs, cut into irregular rectangles and served with porcini mushrooms from the local woods. Stalls will be open for lunch and dinner: the full menu costs €22 and includes polenta crostini with porcini mushrooms, tacchie with porcini mushrooms, a main course of meat with porcini mushrooms, and a small bottle of wine or water. Children will have a €10 menu with a cutlet, chips, and Coca-Cola. New this year are arancini with porcini mushrooms. Markets, music, folk performances, and children's activities are also on the program.
Marino Grape Festival (Rome) | October 3-5. The 102nd edition of the Marino Grape Festival returns, with the main events concentrated between October 3-5 in the historic center and squares of this Castelli Romani town. The program includes historical parades in period costume, concerts, shows, and initiatives tied to local traditions. Events also include a children's historical parade, tourist trails, the Palio, and a festival dedicated to children. There will also be a food court with the participation of Coldiretti. On Saturday, October 3, Fargetta will perform a DJ set, while on Sunday, October 4, the historical parade will feature performances by Edoardo Sylos Labini and Matilde Brandi. The event concludes on Monday, October 5 with the Renaissance Reenactment, the Miracle of the Fountains, and a performance by Francesco Cicchella.
Porcini Mushroom Festival at Roma 70 Summer Village, Rome | until October 11. From September 28th to October 11th, Roma 70 Summer Village on Via dell'Automobilismo hosts the 8th Porcini Mushroom Festival. For the occasion, the mushroom will be presented in various preparations, from first courses to second courses, including appetizers and wood-fired pizza. Among the dishes offered are tonnarelli with porcini mushrooms, gnocchi with porcini mushrooms sautéed in butter, hazelnuts, and parmesan, Genoese-style roast beef with porcini cream, and pizzas with porcini mushrooms and other ingredients. Marinated and battered porcini mushrooms will also be available. During the event, fresh porcini mushrooms will also be available for purchase on site. The festival is open every evening for dinner, and also for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
Potato Festival in Leonessa (RI) | October 9-11. The 36th annual Potato Festival returns to Leonessa, in the province of Rieti, from October 9-11. For three days, potatoes are the star of the festival, with food stands open for lunch and dinner, and takeout is also available. Specialties include gnocchi, fried potatoes, and rescallata, an ancient Leonessa dish made from boiled potatoes sautéed in a pan. The event also includes an agricultural, artisan, and local produce fair, featuring approximately 200 exhibitors from across Italy. The program includes music, traveling shows, and entertainment throughout the three days, including evening concerts in Piazza VII Aprile.
Canterano Truffle Festival (RM) | October 10th, 11th, 17th, and 18th. The 13th edition of the Canterano Truffle Festival returns to Canterano, a town in the province of Rome, on October 10th, 11th, and 17th, 18th. The star of the show is the "cifaru," the Canterano dialect name for truffles, presented in both traditional and more creative recipes. The classic menu costs €28 and includes truffle bruschetta, truffle strangozzi, truffle eggs, and King's salami; the meat menu, starting at €34, adds truffle-wrapped veal morsels. For an additional €3, you can also choose delicacies such as truffle and chicory supplì, potato croquettes, provola cheese and truffle, meatballs with parmesan fondue and truffle, and pan-fried pizza with wild berries. Fresh truffles, including white truffles, and local produce will also be available for purchase. The festival will be accompanied by live music, mini-concerts, and DJ sets.
