A healthy bar is no oxymoron! If you're looking for a replacement for store-bought sweets loaded with sugar and uninspiring ingredients, this recipe for oatmeal bars has the answer!

Oat bars are a good alternative if you didn't have time for breakfast - oatmeal, dates, peanut butter, chia seeds and dried acerola will give you a good dose of energy They are also a great addition to a school lunch for younger sweet tooths .

These oat bars are quick and easy to prepare, and with the given proportions you'll get 9 substantial bars. The addition of chocolate will surely sweeten many a morning!

Oat bars:

Step 1. Cover the dates with boiling water and let them steep for about an hour. Then drain the water.

Step 2 Place the soaked dates in a food processor. Add the peanut butter, salt, and vanilla extract.

Step 3 Add the oat drink to the nut-date mixture and mix until combined.

Step 4 Then combine it thoroughly with the oat flakes.

Step 5 Next, add the chocolate, chia seeds and acerola.

Step 6 Transfer the mixture to a 23 cm long cake tin lined with baking paper.

Marta recommends the Keksówka, which is perfect for baking banana bread, chocolate cake, or candy bars! .

Step 7 Bake for 20 minutes at 170°C.

Step 8 Then cut into bars.

Step 9 Spread on a baking tray and bake again for another 8-10 minutes.
