Autumn vegetables – recipes with pumpkin, savoy cabbage and more

A glorious autumn season: pumpkins, savoy cabbage, mushrooms, beets, and more are ready for harvest and are filling our pantries for the coming months. This is the perfect time to prepare delicious oven-baked dishes, stews, salads, and side dishes from aromatic autumn vegetables.

These vegetables are in season in autumn

Many vegetables are available in supermarkets year-round. Nevertheless, it's worth taking advantage of fresh autumn vegetables from September to November: pumpkins, corn, cabbage, and other produce are harvested in local fields, are particularly nutritious, and flavorful. The selection is plentiful, and the prices are reasonable. Furthermore, unlike imported goods, regional autumn vegetables don't have to be transported far – a plus for the environment!

Popular autumn vegetables at a glance:

  • Pumpkins of all varieties

Oven-roasted autumn vegetables

Freshly harvested vegetables become especially flavorful when roasted in the oven. We particularly love pumpkin, Brussels sprouts, and leeks cooked on a baking sheet.

Hearty stews with autumn vegetables

Stews are a must in autumn. Whether classic, like creamy mushroom goulash or spicy parsnip curry.

Colorful salads with autumn vegetables

In our salad bowls we are now mixing all sorts of autumn vegetables with nuts, dried fruits and seasonal dressing variations.

Autumn vegetables as a side dish to meat

Autumn vegetables go wonderfully with chicken, lamb, beef steak and minced meat, and at the same time add color to the plate.
