Fake French fries, the perfect recipe for French fries without oil!
In my house, French fries are a veritable institution; my husband and children can't live without them. For this reason, I've had to resort to fake French fries, or fries without oil!
French fries, unfortunately, while a truly delicious dish no one can resist, are quite high in calories. Furthermore, they're fried in hot oil, so eating them frequently can be a real problem.
For this reason, to avoid giving up this pleasure at home, I had to find another recipe. I must say, no one noticed the difference compared to traditional oil-fried chips.
Fake French Fries Recipe: Try It Now
As mentioned, if your family loves French fries, you can use this recipe, which will surely help you not disappoint them and put frying aside. It's a really simple recipe to make, which will be useful on many occasions. The only ingredients you'll need are the following:
1 kg of yellow-fleshed potatoes, Olive oil, Salt.
Here's how to make fake French fries
Let's get started! Take the potatoes, peel them, and cut them into the shape you prefer for your fries. Then, place them in a bowl and pour cold water over them to remove the excess starch and ensure perfect cooking. The fries will rest for 30 minutes.
Once the required time has passed, place the chips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and greased with olive oil. Add a little more oil and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for no more than 20 minutes.
After cooking, remove the fries from the oven and add salt while they're still hot. Our "fried" but not deep-fried fries are ready to serve. I'm sure they'll be a huge hit, and your kids will love this recipe too, not noticing the difference from the classic ones cooked in hot oil!
