Oatmeal porridge with various toppings
This creamy oatmeal with versatile toppings brings quick breakfast comfort to the table: choose caramelized pecans and blueberries, apple with raisins, or banana with peanut butter and dark chocolate.
Ingredients · Servings 1
- 50 g rolled oats or oatmeal (gluten-free if desired)
- 250 ml water
- 1 tbsp almond milk
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of cinnamon
- maple syrup or honey
- 1 call
- 2 tablespoons raisins
- olive oil or coconut oil
- 1 handful of pecans
- 2 tsp honey
- 1 handful of blueberries
- 1 space
- 1 large tablespoon of peanut butter
- 1 small piece of dark chocolate (70%)
- 1 handful of strawberries
- 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons of granola of your choice
Method · 5 min
- Start with the base. Put the oat flakes and water in a saucepan and turn the heat to high. If using rolled oats, start with 150 ml of water and add more as needed. Stir regularly so the oats do not stick to the bottom. When the oat flakes/oatmeal start to thicken, turn off the heat and add the almond milk, salt, and cinnamon. Stir well and let it steep for another half minute. First, add your topping of choice, and then drizzle with maple syrup or honey. Or eat it without topping, of course.
- Apple and raisin: Wash the apple and remove the core. Cut it into small cubes. Feel free to leave the skin on, it is full of nutrients! Put some olive oil or coconut oil in a small saucepan. Add the apple pieces and let them cook. Now add the raisins and the pinch of cinnamon. Put half of the apple mixture in a small bowl, spread the oatmeal over it, and put the other half on top.
- Caramelized pecans and blueberries: Put the pecans together with the honey in a small saucepan and heat gently. Stir continuously until the pecans are gently caramelized. Put the oatmeal in a small bowl and top with the blueberries and caramelized pecans.
- Banana, peanut butter, and chocolate: Slice the banana, place half at the bottom of the bowl, and add the oatmeal. Place the other half of the banana on top. Spread the peanut butter on top. Cut the chocolate into small pieces and sprinkle it over the top.
- Strawberries, yogurt, and granola: Cut the strawberries in half or quarters. Feel free to keep the stems; they are edible! Put the oatmeal in a small bowl and top with the strawberry pieces, Greek yogurt, and granola.
