Asian chicken sausage rolls
These Asian sausage rolls are a tasty variation on the classic sausage rolls. We fill the puff pastry with spicy minced chicken with ingredients including soy sauce, ginger, and spring onion. Great as a snack, with drinks, or as an easy meal with a salad, for example.

- 8 slices of puff pastry
- 300 g minced chicken
- 2 spring onions
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 el ketjap manis
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 no
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- pinch of pepper
Method · 40 min
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
- Let the puff pastry slices thaw. In the meantime, finely chop the spring onion and grate or finely chop the garlic and ginger.
- Put the minced chicken in a bowl and add the spring onion, garlic, ginger, kecap manis, soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, and a pinch of pepper. Mix everything well together.
- Divide the minced chicken into 8 portions and shape each portion into an elongated sausage. Place a sausage on one half of each slice of puff pastry.
- Fold the puff pastry over the filling and press the edges together firmly with a fork. Place the sausage rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Beat the egg and brush the tops of the rolls with it. Sprinkle the sesame seeds over them.
- Bake the Asian sausage rolls in the oven for about 20-25 minutes, until the puff pastry is golden brown and crispy and the minced chicken is fully cooked.
- Serve the sausage rolls with sweet chili sauce for dipping, for example.
