8 pers.
Ingredients · Servings 8
- 250g White flour
- 150 g Sucre blanc
- 3 hard-boiled eggs
- 15 cl Sweetened condensed milk
- 100g Melted butter
- 1 sachet(s) Baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 20g Cocoa powder
- 1 tsp orange food coloring
- 150g Nutella spread
- 100 g Bonbons Bubblizz
Method · 55 min
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) so it's nice and hot when you put the cake in. Next, butter a round cake tin or a loaf tin, then lightly flour it to prevent the batter from sticking. You can also line the bottom with parchment paper. Finally, have all the ingredients ready on your work surface to speed up the cooking process and keep a good pace.
- Carefully peel the hard-boiled eggs, then mash them very finely with a fork in a large bowl to obtain the most homogeneous texture possible. Add the white sugar, then mix thoroughly to distribute the ingredients evenly. Next, pour in the sweetened condensed milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir vigorously until you obtain a smooth, supple, and well-combined mixture.
- In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and baking powder, then mix well to distribute the powder evenly. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients to avoid lumps. Work the batter with a spatula or whisk until it is smooth, thick, and even. The final texture should be easy to spread in the pan.
- Take about a third of the batter and place it in a bowl. Add the cocoa powder to this portion and mix until you have a rich chocolate batter. To the remaining batter, stir in the orange food coloring thoroughly for a bright, even color. Then, alternately pour the two mixtures into the pan and swirl a knife through the batter to create a marbled effect reminiscent of Halloween.
- Place the cake tin in the center of the preheated oven and bake for about 25 minutes. Keep an eye on the color towards the end of baking to ensure it remains moist. Check for doneness by inserting a knife or wooden skewer into the center: it should come out clean or with a few dry crumbs. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before unmolding.
- Place the cake, warm or completely cooled, on a serving plate. If the Nutella is too firm, soften it slightly, either for a few seconds in the microwave or by working it with a spoon. Then spread the Nutella evenly over the entire surface of the cake using the back of a spoon or a spatula. You can create irregular patterns for a more decadent and slightly monstrous look.
- Spread the Bubblizz candies evenly over the still-soft frosting so they adhere easily. You can arrange them randomly for a festive effect, or create a Halloween face by placing the candies as eyes, a mouth, or colorful scars. Press them lightly to secure them without pushing them in too far. This step gives the cake its quick, playful, and visually striking style.
- Allow the decoration to set for a few minutes before cutting the cake, so the frosting adheres better. Then serve in generous slices for 8 people. This quick Halloween cake is perfect for an afternoon snack or dessert, with a glass of milk, hot chocolate, or coffee. It's a fast, original, and fun recipe, perfect for a family gathering.
