Provençal-style vegetable tian
- 150g Wheat flour
- 100g grated Gruyère cheese
- 80g Chorizo
- 1 Red bell pepper(s)
- 3 whole egg(s)
- 12.5 cl lukewarm milk
- 10 cl Sunflower oil
- 1 sachet(s) Baking powder
- Cell
- Freshly ground pepper
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (gas mark 6).
- Beat the whole eggs in a bowl. Add the flour and baking powder, then mix. Gradually add the sunflower oil and lukewarm milk, continuing to mix. Stir until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous batter.
- Cut the chorizo into small pieces. Peel the bell pepper with a vegetable peeler (or by roasting it in the oven and then letting it cool in an airtight container if you have the time), remove the seeds, and then slice it into thin strips. Add it to the batter along with the grated Gruyère cheese and the chorizo. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then mix well.
- Butter and flour a loaf pan and pour in the batter. Bake for 45 minutes, checking for doneness with a knife: it should come out clean and dry. Let the chorizo cake cool slightly on a wire rack after removing it from the oven, then unmold it onto a serving plate. Enjoy it warm or cold with a dressed green salad as a starter, or cut into small cubes as an appetizer.
