Homemade sparkling lemonade in 5 minutes

4 pers.

Ingredients · Servings 4
  • 4 Citron
  • 1 liter of sparkling water
  • 80g Cane Sugar
  • 200g Ice cubes
  • 8 fresh mint leaves
Method · 5 min
  1. Rinse the lemons thoroughly under cold running water, then dry them with a clean cloth. For a more elegant presentation, slice a few thin rounds from one or two lemons and set them aside for serving. Next, cut the lemons in half and squeeze them to extract all the juice. Remove the seeds as you go to obtain a pleasant, clean base without excessive bitterness.
  2. Pour the lemon juice into a large carafe or pitcher. Add the cane sugar, then stir with a large spoon until it begins to dissolve. Make sure to scrape the bottom of the carafe to prevent any sugar from settling. This step helps to soften the natural acidity of the lemon, resulting in a balanced, refreshing, and fragrant lemonade.
  3. Pour the chilled sparkling water slowly into the carafe to preserve its fizz. Gently stir with a long spoon, without stirring too vigorously, to retain the bubbles. Taste the mixture and check that the sugar is evenly distributed. If necessary, stir very lightly again. You will then have a refreshing, crisp, and particularly pleasant sparkling lemonade base, best served ice cold.
  4. Wash the fresh mint leaves, then gently crush them between your hands to release their aroma without bruising them. Add them to the pitcher along with the ice cubes. Also add the reserved lemon slices, if you prepared them. This step adds a real touch of freshness, while also making the drink look more attractive in the pitcher. The lemonade then becomes even more appealing and summery.
  5. Serve the sparkling lemonade immediately in large glasses to fully appreciate its freshness and bubbles. Distribute ice cubes, mint leaves, and perhaps a few lemon slices among the glasses for an elegant presentation. You can give it a very light stir just before serving if desired. Enjoy immediately to preserve the drink's vibrancy, balance, and refreshing character.
