Carnival ribbon donut
To make the carnival ribbon donuts, first crumble the yeast into lukewarm milk and let it rise for 10 minutes.
Put the flour in a bowl with the sugar, a pinch of salt and the soft butter, then pour in the milk-yeast mix and the rum, add the egg yolks and knead very thoroughly with a mixer for about 10 minutes. Cover with foil and let rise in a warm place for 40-45 minutes.
Roll out the dough on a floured rolling board to a thickness of 1.5-2 cm and cut out circles with a glass or a doughnut cutter with a diameter of 8-10 cm. Place on a floured surface or leave on the board, cover and let rise for another 20 minutes.
Then, in oil heated to 160-170 degrees, covered with a lid, fry them on one side for 1-2 minutes until golden brown, then turn them over and do the same with the other side, but without a lid. Remove the fried doughnuts to a paper towel and serve them with the jam, sprinkled with powdered sugar.
