Milanesa Can Muson de sa Vila style

Who's up for Milanese Day?

Officially, it's only celebrated in Argentina, but in Spain we're lucky enough to find recipes in authentic Argentine restaurants and even chefs who dare to share their own versions. María Jiménez Latorre, besides being in love with Ibiza, often enjoys the Milanesa style of Can Muson de sa Vila, an Argentine restaurant on the island that makes it perfectly.

4 beef or chicken top round steaks

5 slices of York ham

4 slices of cheese of your choice (preferably mozzarella)

2 vine tomatoes

2 eggs

100 grams of flour

200 grams of breadcrumbs

Salt, pepper to taste and extra virgin olive oil.

The fillets are flattened to break down fibers and make them thin.

They are first coated in flour, shaken off a little, dipped in egg, and finally coated in breadcrumbs, pressing them firmly to ensure they are well coated.

They are fried in a good extra virgin olive oil; they are left to dry on absorbent paper and once the excess is removed, they are topped with fresh grated tomato seasoned with EVOO and salt, completely covered with slices of York ham and mozzarella and straight into the oven to gratinate!

Once the cheese is crispy, the milanesas are ready!
