Sydney café experimenting with avocado dessert
One Sydney café has taken the leap of combining the two fan-favourite ingredients as part of its limited time summer menu.
“We want to inspire other chefs to think beyond avo toast, put it in your sauces, dressings, desserts, and drinks. “It’s such a versatile ingredient and we’re blessed with the freshest local produce.”
The sundae features avocado cream – made with Hass avocado and pistachio – layered between vanilla soft serve and magic chocolate sauce, finished with crushed kataifi.
Happyfield Co-Owner Jesse Orleans says the creation of the new menu item, which was made in collaboration with Australian Avocados Foodservice, says it’s up to venues to create new and exciting menu items using customer favourites ingredients.
“Avocados are a staple in Australian café culture,” says Jesse.
