Cheese and nut cookies
French crackers with cheese sauce will brighten up any buffet or holiday table. If you don't have time to make homemade crackers, which are actually quite easy to make, you can use pre-made crackers.
- grated cheddar cheese – 100 g
- chilled butter – 100 g
- a pinch of mustard powder and paprika
- peeled walnuts – 3 tbsp.
- salt – to taste
- flour – 1 cup
- a pinch of ground red pepper
- Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Cut the butter into cubes.
- Sift flour, pepper, mustard, and salt into a bowl. Add butter, cheese, and paprika and knead the dough.
- Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease 2 baking sheets with butter and line them with parchment paper. Finely chop the nuts with a knife. Roll the dough into 30 small balls and roll them in the nuts. Place them on the baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, until the cookies begin to turn golden. Cool on a wire rack.
