Mother's Pasta with Tomato Sauce
1 package macaroni

1 teaspoon of red pepper paste
- ½ cup tomato puree

1 pinch of powdered sugar
Bring water to a boil in a pot. Add salt to the boiling water and then add the pasta. Cook the pasta for the time indicated on the package. Reserve some of the pasta water. Drain the pasta in a colander and rinse with cold water. Return the pot to the stove and add butter and olive oil. Once the butter has melted, add the tomato paste and sauté. Add the tomato puree, salt, pepper, sugar, and the reserved pasta water to the sautéed tomato paste. Add the pasta and mix everything together. Serve hot.
