Making bouncy, pudding-soft school cafeteria steamed eggs, double-boiled steamed eggs

The ingredients and method are simple, and it tastes delicious even if you make it, keep it in the refrigerator, and eat it chilled.

It steeps faster in lukewarm water :)

Please prepare heat-resistant glass or stainless steel dishes, or any dishes that are safe to use even when heated.

If you're at it, use fragrant sesame oil~ hehe. Add a spoonful of sesame oil and use a brush to thoroughly coat the bowl.

Straining the egg mixture through a sieve to remove the membranes will result in a softer and more delicious steamed egg dish.

Finely chop the green onions.

Foil is fine instead of plastic wrap :)

If you lift the bowl, the steamed egg pops right out :)

The bowl is hot, so be careful with your hands!

It feels firm and bouncy like pudding, but when you actually eat it, the texture is incredibly soft. It has a texture and taste completely different from earthenware pot steamed eggs!! I think that is the unique charm of school cafeteria steamed eggs :)

  • This steamed egg recipe is highly praised for being soft and delicious, with many people saying it reminds them of the steamed eggs they used to eat at restaurants. It is a simple recipe with a high success rate, so even beginners can easily follow it. It is great for eating with children, and there are many reviews stating that families enjoyed it.

I've been making steamed eggs for them often, but when I used this recipe, the kids said it was delicious for the first time... *sobs*... It tasted much better to me than what I've made before, too. I'm so, so grateful for this recipe^^

I tried making steamed eggs in a double boiler for the first time! I added crown daisies and onions, and it was delicious~! The interesting thing is that all the ingredients floated to the top haha. For a 2-serving portion, I used 3 eggs and only half of the seasoning you suggested, and it was a success!

I absolutely love the firm-tofu-style steamed eggs served in school lunches, but I used to be someone who never attempted any recipes because I thought the dish itself had a high barrier to entry. However! Thanks to minitori's recipe, I have become someone who knows how to make steamed eggs starting today! I didn't have carrots, so I just used green onions, but no problem! That kind of thing isn't an issue at all, haha. Most importantly! My child ate it so deliciously and gave me double thumbs up, which makes me feel like I'm flying, haha. It was my first time trying a steamed egg recipe, but first love is last love, haha. I am settling on minitori's recipes for steamed eggs right away. Thank you so, so much for the recipe!

I've never succeeded before—but I succeeded this time! My family dislikes the smell of fermented seafood, so I added a spoonful of tuna extract—and it's so delicious. It takes a little time, so I put it on the stove first, and we were able to eat it warm right away. Thank you!

This is my first time writing a review~ I've lost my sense of taste because I'm undergoing chemotherapy, so I followed the recipe exactly~ My husband and son really enjoyed it today and said it was delicious, so I'm happy too~^^ Thank you~~

Every time I made steamed eggs, I would burn them or they wouldn't be soft, but I succeeded after following this recipe. It really tastes exactly like the steamed eggs served in school lunches. I think this recipe will be very useful.

I made this for my mother because she was sick, and she said it was so delicious that I could even sell it. She doesn't like salty or sweet things, so I only added a little salt to season it. It makes me happy to hear that she enjoyed it.

My 6th grader really hates this kind of steamed egg dish. I made it because I wanted to eat it myself... but my son said it was so delicious that he ate it all by himself and asked me to make it again. It really tastes just like the steamed eggs you get at a restaurant. It's so good!

I had some flying fish roe, so I added it in. It came off perfectly after I greased the pan haha. My son said it was delicious and ate it well. I'll be using this recipe for steamed eggs haha. Thank you for the valuable recipe.

Haha, I didn't know and made it without adding water at first. Then, while eating it, I wondered if I should have added it, and realized I had. It would have been so soft and delicious if I had. It was chewy and super tasty even without the water. I highly recommend it. The best.

I was following the recipe closely while cooking rice and soup, but I ended up drenched in sweat, so I gave up on the double boiler method and just microwaved it. Even so, I received compliments saying it was delicious~~ Thank you~~ My husband arrived before I could finish cooking, so I had to set the table in a hurry and don't have any photos~~ haha

It's delicious whether you make a generous batch, portion it out, and eat it with every meal. It's also a dish I always end up making with spicy food. Soft and bouncy steamed eggs are always a favorite!
