Want a quick second course? Try my Lemon Chicken Strips!

Looking for a second course that can quickly and easily finish your dinner without sacrificing flavor? Lemon and rosemary chicken strips are the perfect solution: a creamy and quick recipe, ideal for those short on time but wanting to bring a dish with an irresistible Mediterranean flavor to the table.

Ingredients · Servings 4
  • Chicken breast cut into strips 500 g
  • Semolina 2 tablespoons
  • Extra virgin olive oil (EVO) 20 g
  • Sale
  • Baby
  • Rosemary 1 sprig
  • Lemon juice 50 g
  • Lemon slices for decoration 1
Method · 30 min
  1. Start the preparation by taking the chicken breast and cutting it into thin, even strips, so as to obtain your strips.
  2. Pour two tablespoons of semolina into a plastic bag, add the chicken, and shake vigorously: in just a few seconds, you'll get even breading on every piece without making a mess.
  3. Carefully wash a sprig of fresh rosemary, remove the woody center part and chop it finely with a knife to release its full aroma.
  4. Pour the extra virgin olive oil into a large skillet and heat it thoroughly. Add the chicken strips and sauté over high heat, stirring frequently, until they are evenly golden brown.
  5. Season with salt and pepper, add the chopped rosemary, and stir well to coat the meat evenly. Near the end of cooking, add the lemon juice: let it reduce for two or three minutes, then turn off the heat.
  6. Transfer the meat to a serving dish and add a pinch of pepper to taste. Garnish with fresh lemon slices: your lemon and rosemary chicken strips are ready to be served and enjoyed piping hot!

The secret to tender, never-dry chicken strips lies in technique: today I'll show you how semolina can make all the difference compared to traditional flour, creating a golden crust that locks in the meat's juices. If you love citrus flavors, this recipe will become your favorite dinner savior, just like the quick chicken curry or the classic chicken bites with zucchini.

Making these strips is super simple and requires just a few ingredients you'll probably already have in the fridge. It's a great alternative to the usual baked chicken breast or the more elaborate chicken breast rolls in wine.

If you're looking for something more delicious for the kids, you could try air fryer chicken nuggets, but I assure you, the creamy lemony flavor of this recipe will win everyone over from the first bite. Ready to get cooking? Join me in the kitchen!
