The perfect menu for a summer day: easy ideas you'll be happy to repeat

When you don't know what to eat, keep your day simple

In the summer, we often crave light, fresh, and quick meals, but that doesn't mean we have to forget about a balanced diet. A good daily menu can be created without complicated recipes and long hours at the stove - the important thing is to combine different foods throughout the day.

This time, we've prepared three ideas for an entire summer day. For breakfast, the menu includes fruit crumble, which can also be prepared in advance, for lunch, a filling salad with chicken and quinoa, and to end the evening, we'll end with a quick wrap filled with tuna and a variety of vegetables.

The meals vary, but they have something in common: they contain protein, quality carbohydrates, fiber, healthy fats, and plenty of vegetables and fruits. At the same time, they are simple enough to easily incorporate into your everyday summer menu.

Breakfast: morning peach crumble

Start your day with a fragrant morning peach crumble, which is a great alternative to a classic sweet breakfast. The base is juicy summer peaches, complemented by crunchy oatmeal, flax seeds and nuts. For the finishing touch, enjoy the finished crumble with Greek or coconut yogurt. The recipe is HERE.

Why is it a good choice? Oatmeal contains complex carbohydrates and fiber, which contribute to longer satiety, while flax seeds and nuts add healthy fats. Peaches provide fruity freshness and natural sweetness. A special advantage of this breakfast is also its practicality. The crumbs can be prepared in larger quantities and stored for the next day, so it is a great solution for mornings when we don't have time to prepare breakfast.

Lunch: fit salad with chicken and quinoa

For lunch, a slightly more specific meal follows – a fit salad with chicken, quinoa and vegetables, which is filling enough, but pleasantly refreshing and light for summer. The recipe is HERE.

Chicken is a good source of protein, and quinoa contains some protein and fiber in addition to carbohydrates. Fresh vegetables and arugula provide additional fiber, vitamins, and minerals, and olive oil provides healthy fats. You can also add feta, mozzarella, or burrata to the salad if you like.

This combination is especially suitable for lunch, as it combines a protein component, a filling side dish and plenty of vegetables. The salad can also be prepared in advance, so it is convenient for work, a picnic or lunch in the garden.

Dinner: whole grain tuna wrap with vegetables

As the day draws to a close, we usually don't need such a large meal, so a quick whole grain wrap with tuna and fresh vegetables is a great choice.

Fill the tortilla with tuna and any vegetables you like. If desired, add a little Greek yogurt or cheese spread, sliced avocado, or canned beans for extra satiety. For freshness, add some lemon juice and fresh herbs, and if desired, a little feta.

The tuna provides quality protein, the whole-wheat tortilla provides carbohydrates and fiber, and the vegetables provide freshness and various micronutrients. Greek yogurt is a good alternative to heavier sauces, adding creaminess and some extra protein to the dish, and avocado is a great source of healthy fats.

The best thing about this meal? It's ready in about ten minutes and requires almost no cooking. Perfect for hot summer evenings when you want something tasty but don't feel like standing by the stove for long.

From breakfast to dinner without complications

This summer menu beautifully demonstrates that a balanced diet doesn't have to be complicated. In the morning, we get energy from oatmeal and fruit, at lunch we combine protein, quinoa and vegetables, and in the evening we treat ourselves to a light but filling tuna wrap.

In addition, all three dishes can be adapted to your preferences and the ingredients you have at home. You can replace the peaches with other seasonal fruits, add vegetables of your choice to the salad, and use whatever is hiding in the fridge for the wrap.

Three simple dishes, lots of seasonal ingredients, and just the right amount of planning – enough to make even a summer menu delicious, varied, and balanced.
