Tender and juicy roast beef: the best recipe
What is the cooking time for a 500g beef roast?
Ingredients · Servings 8 people
- 1.5 kg beef roast
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 5 sprigs of thyme
- 30g butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
Method · 5 min
- Preheat the oven to thermostat 7/8 (210/240°C) for 15 minutes.
- Make a few holes in the roast and insert the garlic cloves. Dot with butter, sprinkle with fresh thyme, and season well with salt and pepper.
- Bake for approximately 20 minutes for a seared roast that is rare in the center. For more well-done meat, add 5 to 10 minutes.
- Let the meat rest for 5 minutes before slicing it thinly and serving with the sauce.
Allow approximately 15 to 20 minutes of oven cooking time for rare meat, depending on the oven temperature and the shape of the roast. For a more well-done roast, extend the cooking time by a few minutes. Then, let the meat rest for about 10 minutes under a sheet of aluminum foil before carving.
What to serve with roast beef?
