Almond croissants with almond paste
These almond croissants with almond paste happen to be the perfect recipe for Easter or Christmas breakfast. Or brunch, of course; that works too. Since we all have to celebrate Easter at home anyway, we might as well make the best of it, right?
Ingredients · Servings 6
- 1 can of croissant dough (regular size)
- 120 g marzipan
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 40 g sliced almonds
- powdered sugar
Method · 20 min
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (top and bottom heat).
- Divide the almond paste into 6 equal pieces. Roll out the croissant dough. Make a small incision at the bottom. Place a piece of almond paste on top.
- Roll the dough into a croissant. Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle the flaked almonds over it.
- Bake the almond croissants in the oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Sprinkle the almond croissants with powdered sugar.
