Healthy(er) brownies from the Airfryer

Yes, I am sharing this recipe for healthier Airfryer brownies with you today. And oh, you are going to be very happy with it. Because I was too, after I made and tasted them. I always enjoy experimenting with making tasty things healthier. This recipe for healthier brownies is a good example of that.

Ingredients · Servings 16
  • 200 g spelt flour
  • 80g cocoa
  • 160 g cane sugar
  • 4 eggs (size L)
  • 200 g Greek yogurt
  • 200 ml milk
  • 60 ml sunflower oil
  • pinch of salt
  • 75 g dark chocolate (chopped)
Method · 30 min
  1. Whisk the eggs with the milk, yogurt, and sunflower oil until light and fluffy. Add the flour, cocoa, sugar, and a pinch of salt, and fold this into the batter.
  2. Add the chocolate chips and mix briefly. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan or into the baking accessory of your Airfryer XXL.
  3. Bake the healthy brownies in the Airfryer at 170 degrees for 20–25 minutes. Alternatively, you can bake them in the oven. In that case, bake the brownies in a preheated oven (top and bottom heat) at 175 degrees for 35–40 minutes until golden brown. Let the brownies cool completely. Tip: Add chopped pecans for an extra-filled brownie.

Because yes, I do have a sweet tooth sometimes, but it doesn't always have to be very sweet for me. I often crave something sweet in the afternoon or after dinner. And I don't want to overindulge, so these healthier brownies are a real godsend. Do you recognize that sweet craving after dinner or around 4 o'clock too? Then this is a handy recipe for you! Save it to your favorites right away so you can easily find it again.

Healthy variant

Are these brownies really healthy? No, not snacking at all or having a handful of nuts or some fruit is healthier. But these brownies are a healthier version of traditional brownies. How do I do that? I use 30% less sugar and I add Greek yogurt to the recipe. This provides more protein and a delicious fudgy texture. Exactly what you expect from a brownie. So, if you're craving something sweet but don't want to immediately consume a sugar bomb, these healthier brownies are a good alternative.

From the Airfryer

Anyone who still thinks that you can only use the Airfryer as a replacement for the deep fryer is mistaken. You can actually do a lot with an Airfryer, much more than just preparing bitterballen and fries. For example, I also made these healthy brownies in the Airfryer. So you don't necessarily need an oven, because you can really go a long way with an Airfryer. Want to know what else you can prepare in the Airfryer?
