Bar Martínez, best draft beer pourer
The competition was announced last February through the Bar Manager app. Nearly 500 establishments from across Catalonia submitted entries, from which the ten finalists were selected.
The winner of this second edition was Óscar Puertas from Bar Martínez in Barcelona, who received a check for 2,000 euros. Second place went to Ismael Barón from Bar Marisquería Ismael in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda (Barcelona), and third place to Marta Jiménez from Rustic BCN in Barcelona, who were awarded 1,000 and 500 euros, respectively.
The other seven finalists were Bar Punt 5 in Figueres, Barram in Mataró, Frida Restaurant in Tarragona, La Bodega Moderna in Barcelona, Palau Nou Gintonic Bar in Molins de Rei, Restaurant Neptú in Girona, and The New Port Gastrobar in Roses. During the event, QuemeTomo bar in Barcelona was also recognized as the establishment most beloved by Estrella Damm fans.
According to the competition, the keys to a good beer pour are: use a clean glass, open the tap fully and let the first pressure pass through; tilt the glass 45 degrees to fill it and, once the glass is filled to 3/4 of its capacity, close the tap, then open it again and gently let the foam fall into the glass, crowning it.
