Sunday dessert without complications: recipes that work even without pastry knowledge

Sunday lunch almost deserves something sweet at the end, but that doesn't mean we have to spend the whole morning in the kitchen preparing dessert.

This time we've selected five recipes for those days when you want homemade desserts but don't feel like weighing every ingredient to the gram, preparing complicated creams, or trying out pastry tricks. Two desserts feature apples, which are almost indispensable in autumn, one is for lovers of nuts and sour cream, one is for plums, and one is a great opportunity to pull out a jar of homemade jam from the pantry that you made in the summer.

These are desserts that even those who are not the most experienced pastry chefs can prepare without fear. And that's exactly why they're perfect for Sunday - when we want something good, homemade, and fragrant, but we also want to save part of the day for rest and socializing.

Cottage cheese semolina cake with apples

A moist cake that combines tender cottage cheese, semolina, raisins and juicy apples. The preparation is simple, and the result is just what we want for an autumn Sunday dessert – soft, fragrant and just right for a homemade treat. The recipe is HERE.

Walnut cake with sour cream

If you love nuts, this cake is the perfect choice for autumn days. The rich nutty flavor is beautifully complemented by a delicate layer of sour cream and jam, which keeps the cake pleasantly moist, and the cake goes perfectly with a cup of hot drink. The preparation is simple, so it is also suitable for less experienced pastry chefs. The recipe is HERE.

Invisible apple pie

This dessert has almost more apples than dough, so the result is extremely juicy and pleasantly light. Thin slices of apples are combined with a delicate mass during baking, which almost hides them - hence the somewhat unusual name. A great choice when you have a lot of apples at home. The recipe is HERE.

Ladies capricious

A simple dessert with a somewhat unusual name, as well as with the preparation process. The egg whites are not mixed into the sponge cake mixture, but are used to prepare a snow-white 'cap'. The finishing touch is provided by ground walnuts or hazelnuts and any jam. The pastry has a great taste and goes really well on the autumn Sunday table, especially if you want to prepare something homemade, but without the demanding pastry preparation. The recipe is HERE.

Quick plum pita

Two layers of shortcrust pastry hide a juicy plum filling, making this pie a true fall classic. Since it's quick and easy to make, it's a great solution for when you want to bake something homemade but don't have much time. The recipe is HERE.
