The Best San Diego Restaurants for Your Wedding Day
Couples looking to tie the knot in San Diego have myriad restaurant destinations to choose from. The city boasts an array of local restaurants with unforgettable food that are also able to host an entire wedding.
The Seabird Resort
With a venue that faces the glistening Pacific, Seabird captures the beachy California wedding vibe. Piper, the hotel’s restaurant, is a hotspot for coastal weddings: bright light from the floor-to-ceiling windows illuminate the space and the outdoor patio is ideal for taking in the cool breeze during warmer days. This indoor-outdoor venue can accommodate 130 guests. Event menus are customizable and include seasonal produce picked up by chef Chris Carriker for handmade pastas such as the three-cheese ravioli with asparagus and Parmesan cream. Private dining menus in the past have featured dishes such as the little gem Caesar salad and the cedar planked sea bass with artichoke lemon cream. Visit its events site for more.
Adelaide at L’Auberge
With a spectacular vista overlooking the Pacific, wedding guests will find themselves enraptured by the view — and inventive dishes from the kitchen, available in L’Auberge’s restaurant called Adelaide. Adelaide’s dishes span land and sea options: From the raw bar, guests can have oysters or try the dry-aged hamachi crudo with a passion fruit shoyu broth. For the main meal, attendees can choose from a list of entrees — the miso-glazed ikejime black cod with dashi consommé is a stellar option, along with the seared hokkaido scallops. Visit its events site for more information.
Addison Restaurant
Romance is in every corner of the Fairmont Grand Del Mar. Nestled inside the picturesque Italian palazzo, Addison, the city’s first and only three-starred Michelin restaurant, is available for a buyout, comfortably seating up to 75 guests. Renowned chef William Bradley offers a bespoke menu for the special day, highlighting his celebrated southern Californian cuisine with seasonal ingredients. Guests can enjoy a lavish dinner with dishes including Regiis Ova reserve caviar with koshihikari rice, smoked sabayon, and sesame, as well as shellfish chawanmushi with broccoli, bok choy, and daikon. Smaller parties may want to consider the private dining room for their event — an elegant 1,580-square-foot private space for 38 guests that is connected to the main dining room and starlit terrace where attendees can toast to the happy couple.
The Marine Room
La Jolla’s 84-year-old gem, the Marine Room is famous for its front-and-center view of high tides crashing against its windows. Festive pre-dinner hors d’oeuvres range from beef or bluefin tuna tartare to lamb lollipops and mini crab cakes.
