Burrata Caprese & Prosciutto Sandwich

This Burrata Caprese and Prosciutto Sandwich is a deliciously indulgent twist on the classic Italian Caprese. It features creamy burrata cheese, juicy roasted cherry tomatoes, and savory prosciutto layered between a crusty ciabatta baguette.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups basil leaves
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese (adjust according to personal preference)
  • 1/8 cup toasted pine nuts
  • 3 tbsp olive oil (adjust according to desired texture)
  • salt (to taste)
  • 2 cup cherry tomato
  • 8 cloves garlic
  • 1 sprig rosemary
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • ciabatta baguette
  • burrata cheese
  • balsamic glaze
  • prosciutto
Method
  1. Preheat your oven to 335°F (170°C).
  2. In an oven-safe dish, add 2 cups of cherry tomatoes, 8 garlic cloves, and 1 sprig of rosemary.
  3. Drizzle generously with olive oil and sprinkle with a pinch of salt.
  4. Roast in the oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the tomatoes are soft and slightly caramelized. Remove from the oven and set aside.
  5. In a food processor, combine 2 cups of basil leaves, 2 garlic cloves, ½ cup of grated parmesan cheese, ⅛ cup of toasted pine nuts, and a pinch of salt.
  6. Slowly add 3 tablespoons of olive oil while blending until the pesto reaches your desired consistency. Adjust the amount of oil as needed for a smoother texture.
  7. Spread a generous layer of pesto on both sides of the toasted ciabatta.
  8. On one side, place the burrata cheese, breaking it up slightly to cover the bread evenly.
  9. Spoon the roasted cherry tomatoes and garlic over the burrata, and drizzle with balsamic glaze. On the other side, layer the prosciutto slices.
  10. Carefully close the sandwich, pressing gently to combine all the flavors.
  11. Cut into halves or quarters, and serve immediately. Enjoy the delicious combination of creamy, tangy, and savory flavors in every bite!
