Dig Into Brazilian Cheese Bread at This Cambridge Cafe
Bōm Dough is a Cambridge Brazilian cafe best known for pão de queijo (a Brazilian cheese bread that’s naturally gluten-free) and colorful, flavored matchas.
What to order
- The ACE breakfast sandwich ($10) pairs garlic and herb butter with bacon, egg, and sharp cheddar between two pieces of cheesy pão de queijo. Choose between the barbecue mayo sauce or a habanero fig sauce to dip the sandwich in.
- The berry mochi waffle ($16) is a soft, chewy waffle topped with fresh berries, maple syrup, and whipped cream. For a sweeter version, try the churro mochi waffle ($15.50) with banana, whipped cream, and dulce de leche.
- Get individual pão de queijo balls ($3.50 to $4) plain or stuffed with dulce de leche or guava. The stuffed versions are a perfect sweet treat with coffee, or go savory and slather a plain one with house-made garlic crunch butter (75 cents).
What to drink
The strawberry iced matcha ($5.75) is the best-known beverage here, and it’s worth it. If you’re not a strawberry person, other matcha options include peach, guava, maple, and seasonal flavors like a golden banana matcha spiced with cinnamon and turmeric. The golden banana is a personal favorite for a cozy winter feel.
Insider tip
The Inman Square location is large and flooded with natural light, the perfect spot for a remote-work morning fueled by dulce de leche lattes and breakfast sandwiches. For grab-and-go, the Lechmere location is just off the Green Line.
