Cut the bread slices using a traditional Epiphany stocking cutter (or you can easily do it by hand). Toast the stockings in the oven for 5-10 minutes. They should be lightly toasted.
Then dip the slices in the milk. Fry in plenty of oil (be careful not to splash).
Sprinkle some granulated sugar over your stockings and let them cool.
