How to make Barbecued Beef Brisket Recipe

Who doesn’t love a plate of tender, smoky beef brisket? This recipe brings the taste of Texas right to your backyard. Whether you’re a barbecue enthusiast or a first-timer, this guide will help you master the art of cooking the perfect barbecued beef brisket.

Ingredients for Barbecued Beef Brisket Recipe

0.47 Kg Beef Brisket

1/2 Tbsp Paprika

0.33 Tbsp Brown Sugar

0.17 Tbsp Garlic Powder

0.17 Tbsp Onion Powder

0.17 Tbsp Black Pepper

0.17 Tsp Cayenne Pepper

0.17 Cup Barbecue Sauce

As required Wood chips

Step-by-Step Instructions

STEP 1.Trim excess fat from the brisket, leaving a thin layer for flavour. Mix all the spices to create a dry rub. Rub the spice mixture generously on all sides of the brisket.

STEP 1.Preheat your smoker to 225°F (110°C). Soak the wood chips in water for 30 minutes, then place them in the smoker.

STEP 2.Place the brisket fat-side up in the smoker. Smoke for about 1 hour per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C). Baste with barbecue sauce during the last hour for a caramelized glaze.

STEP 3.Remove the brisket from the smoker and wrap it in foil. Let it rest for 30 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute. Slice against the grain for maximum tenderness.

How do I store leftover brisket to keep it fresh?

Wrap the brisket tightly in aluminum foil or place it in an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. For longer storage, freeze it in slices with parchment paper between layers.

Can I make this recipe in an oven if I don’t have a smoker?

Yes! Use a roasting pan and cook at 225°F with a small bowl of water inside the oven for moisture. Add liquid smoke to the dry rub for that signature flavor.

What are some easy ingredient substitutions for the dry rub?

If you’re missing an ingredient, try chili powder instead of paprika or white sugar for brown sugar. Add a pinch of cinnamon for a unique twist!
