Halloween cupcakes in 1 hour: decorated and irresistible

10 pers.

Ingredients · Servings 10
  • 400 kg Flour
  • 1 sachet Baking powder
  • 4 Eggs
  • 200 kg Butter
  • 200 kg Sucre
  • 20 cl Milk
  • 1 Red food coloring
  • 100 kg Chocolate chips
  • 100 kg Strawberry Jam
  • 80 kg Spreadable paste
  • 150 kg Icing sugar
  • Sucre brun
  • 50 kg Red sugar paste
  • 100 kg Massepain
Method · 1 h 25 min
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) from the start of the recipe so it's at the right temperature when you put the cupcakes in. Line a muffin tin with paper baking cups or lightly grease the cups if needed. Also, have all the ingredients ready on your work surface for a smoother cooking experience. This preparation will allow you to complete each step without forgetting anything and to obtain a perfectly smooth batter.
  2. Melt the butter and pour it into a large bowl with the sugar. Mix thoroughly until smooth and glossy. Then add the eggs one at a time, whisking well between each addition to maintain a consistent texture. Take the time to fully incorporate each ingredient, as this base determines the moistness of the cupcakes and their beautiful shape after baking.
  3. Sift the flour and baking powder together, then gradually incorporate them into the previous mixture. Next, pour in the milk in several additions, mixing gently to avoid lumps. You should obtain a soft, fairly thick but easily spreadable batter. Do not overwork the batter at this stage to ensure a light and pleasant texture after baking.
  4. Divide the batter evenly into three separate bowls. This will allow you to create several delicious and visually appealing effects on your cupcakes. Keep one portion for the red version, another for the chocolate chip version, and a third plain. This step is important for varying the flavors and giving your Halloween cupcakes a fun and appetizing look.
  5. Add a few drops of red food coloring to the first bowl and mix gently. You can intentionally leave some slight marbling to enhance the Halloween effect and create a more dramatic cut. Adjust the intensity to achieve the desired result, keeping in mind that a bright color will have a real visual impact. Mix enough to distribute the color evenly without making the dough too uniform.
  6. Pour the chocolate chips into the second bowl and mix with a spatula to distribute them evenly throughout the batter. If desired, you can lightly coat them in flour beforehand to help them stay dispersed during baking. This will add a rich texture and a delightful contrast of flavors to the other cupcake toppings.
  7. Fill the baking cups or molds, alternating the batters according to the desired effect. First, place a little red batter in some molds, add a small spoonful of strawberry jam to the center, then lightly cover. In others, place a little plain batter with a touch of chocolate spread before filling the rest. Finish with the chocolate chip batter to fill the molds without completely filling them to the top.
  8. Bake the cupcakes for about 15 minutes at 180°C (350°F), checking the color towards the end of baking. The cakes should be risen, lightly golden, and springy to the touch. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of the cupcakes, away from the filling if possible: it should come out clean or with a few crumbs. Proper baking ensures moist and easy-to-decorate cupcakes.
  9. Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Wait until they are completely cool before decorating, otherwise the sprinkles might melt or slide off. This cooling time is essential for a neat, delicious, and polished result, perfect for a successful Halloween treat.
  10. Decorate the cupcakes as you wish with marzipan, red fondant, and perhaps a little icing sugar for the finishing touches. For example, shape little witch hats, funny monsters, or hungry mummies to create a festive display. You can vary the faces, shapes, and colors to personalize each cake. Then serve these beautifully decorated Halloween cupcakes for an irresistible effect at the table.
