“Lazy Wife” Dumpling Casserole: I whipped this up in 20 minutes, this recipe will save the evening

vegetable oil for greasing the pan.

  • 800 g frozen dumplings,
  • four onions,
  • 100 g hard cheese,
  • four eggs,
  • 250 g mayonnaise,
  • salt and pepper to taste,
  • greens if desired,
  • vegetable oil for greasing the pan.

How to cook

Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil. Peel and slice the onion into half rings. Place half the onion on the bottom of the dish. Then add a layer of frozen dumplings, still defrosted. Top with the remaining onion.

Beat the eggs with mayonnaise, season with salt and pepper. Pour this mixture over the dumplings and onion. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater and sprinkle on top.

Place the pan in a preheated oven at 180°C for 40–45 minutes, until the dumplings are cooked through and the cheese is melted and golden brown. Sprinkle the finished casserole with fresh herbs and serve hot.

Personal advice

For a more piquant flavor, add a little garlic or mustard to the sauce. For a crispier crust, sprinkle the casserole with breadcrumbs before baking.
