The Thai fried rice, comes with your choice of tofu or vegetables, or beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, seafood or fish. It is prepared with egg, onion, tomato, green onion and Thai spices, then finished with cilantro and sliced cucumbers. Add pineapple or basil for an extra boost of flavor.

Kapiolani Coffee Shop originally opened in the early 1950s on the site where the Hawaii Convention Center now stands before moving to its current location at Waimalu Shopping Center. Known for comforting local favorites like its popular oxtail soup, the longtime eatery also lets you build their perfect fried rice plate. Start with fried rice and choose a meat to go alongside it, including Spam, bacon, pork link, Portuguese sausage or luncheon meat, then top it off with one or two eggs. You can also choose from a variety of fried rice combinations, including lup cheong, kimchee, garlic, pork adobo and kalbi.
