Noodle & Beer Supersizes Its Viral Super King Braised Beef Rib Noodles & Takes It to Spitalfields
Noodle & Beer has introduced one of its most popular Chinatown dishes to its Spitalfields location, transforming its Super King Braised Beef Ribs and Blanket Noodles into a meal for two, and adding it to the specials menu for a limited time.
The braised beef rib has gained viral status for very good reason, ticking all the boxes for the tastebuds and the Insta alike. The tender slow-cooked beef rib is served to the table whole, piled high over thick, silky blanket noodles, before being separated from the bone and cut into smaller pieces, ready to be mixed through the noodles and spicy seasoning. The melt-in-your-mouth beef falls apart with ease, with its richness working perfectly alongside the chilli, oils, fried garlic, herbs, and spices – while the starchy noodles soak up the delicious flavours.
You can delve deeper into the Spitalfields specials, with dishes like the Miso and Butter Dry Noodles on offer, which combine handmade noodles with Sichuan burnt butter, chickpea miso, and caramelised cabbage, with a choice of minced chicken, sliced beef, or prawns and an adjustable spice level. For those who can handle their spice, the Super Spicy Xian Jiao Niu-Rou brings plenty of heat, while the Jiucai Hezi offers a more spice-neutral plate with pan-fried chive pockets filled with Chinese chives and shrimp.
Now is a fantastic time to visit, with Noodle & Beer currently celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with a limited-edition collection of mooncakes, along with three new cocktails created to pair with them. These include the Matcha Made in Heaven, the Strawberry Velvet, and the Full Moon to pair with the matcha, chocolate, and custard mooncakes.
Noodle & Beer takes its inspiration from the food and flavours of Chongqing and Sichuan, with its menu shaped by the rich combinations of chilli, pepper, garlic, ginger, spring onion, sesame, and preserved Sichuan pickles found in the region’s cooking. Its story began with a love of Chongqing Xiaomian, a simple noodle dish known for its deep seasoning and distinctive chilli-infused flavour, which remains an important influence on the restaurant’s approach. The restaurant became well-known for its viral Super King Braised Beef Rib and Noodles, which remains one of the standout specials at Spitalfields, and a permanent (and often sell-out) fixture at Chinatown.
