Each venue will continue to reflect the character of the community it’s situated in, with the new banner bringing them together under one shared philosophy: independent beer, quality food, and genuine hospitality. For Bright Brewery Founder Scott Brandon, the formation of Bright Taphouses recognises the pivotal role hospitality has always played in the brewery’s identity.
“For years people have asked whether we’d ever take the Bright Brewery experience beyond Bright. The answer has always been that we’d only do it if we could do it properly,” says Brandon. “What we’ve built over the past twenty years isn’t just a brewery, it’s a way of welcoming people.
Bright Taphouses gives us the opportunity to bring that approach to more communities while staying true to the values that got us here. Every venue should feel local, genuine and connected to its community.” The new Bright Taphouses banner brings together Bright Brewery’s flagship destination venue in Bright, The Prince Alfred in Carlton, the newly acquired Bright Taphouse Croydon – formerly the Dainton Taphouse in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, and a fourth venue currently under development.
Bright Taphouse Croydon will reopen under the new banner following a considered refurbishment, featuring 20 rotating taps showcasing Bright Brewery’s award-winning alongside local wines, premium Australian spirits and cocktails. The official opening date will be announced in the coming weeks.
The brewery has also secured a further hospitality development in North East Victoria, slated to open during 2027, reflecting Bright’s continued focus on expanding its hospitality footprint in carefully selected communities. Bright Brewery General Manager Brett Jordan commented: “Bright Taphouses isn’t about recreating our venue in Bright somewhere else. Every venue will have its own personality, but they’ll all share the same philosophy: great independent beer, quality food and genuine hospitality.
If someone walks into a Bright Taphouse, we want them to recognise what the Bright brand stands for while still feeling like they’re in their local.”
