The only ingredient that makes scrambled eggs creamier

While scrambled eggs are easy to make, they can quickly lose their soft texture if left in the pan for a few minutes too long. To achieve a silkier consistency, in addition to ingredients like butter, milk, or cream, there are protein-rich alternatives.

-

Achieve a Creamy Texture with Cottage Cheese: One of the best ingredients for making scrambled eggs creamier is cottage cheese, a type of fresh cheese with a grainy texture. Adding the cheese to the whisked mixture before adding the eggs ensures a more even distribution. Using about 2 tablespoons of cottage cheese for 2-3 eggs can help enrich the texture without overpowering the taste of the eggs. For a smoother consistency, the cottage cheese can be mashed with a fork or briefly blended beforehand. This results in a more homogeneous and creamy texture in the cooked eggs, instead of prominent cheese pieces.

-

Cook Eggs at Low Heat: The secret to creamy scrambled eggs lies not only in the ingredients added, but also in the cooking temperature. High heat can cause the egg to lose its moisture quickly and the proteins to form a tighter structure, resulting in a dry result. Heating the pan to medium-low heat before adding the egg mixture allows for a more controlled cooking process. Instead of constantly and rapidly stirring the egg, gently folding it in with a spatula can help create large, soft pieces. Instead of cooking the egg until it's completely dry, removing it from the heat when it looks slightly moist and shiny will allow it to continue cooking with the remaining heat, resulting in a creamier texture.

-

Use just enough cheese so it doesn't overpower the egg flavor. Increasing the amount of cottage cheese doesn't always mean a creamier result. Adding too much cheese can mask the natural flavor of the egg and make the mixture overly thick. Therefore, a few tablespoons of cheese are usually sufficient for a serving of several eggs. Determining the amount of extra salt at the final stage, depending on the cheese's salt content, will help you achieve a more balanced flavor. Ingredients like freshly ground black pepper, finely chopped parsley, or chives can complement the aroma of cheesy eggs.

-

Serve Without Overcooking: The most important step in making creamy scrambled eggs is removing them from the pan at the right time. Cooking the eggs until they are completely firm can lead to the loss of the initially soft texture. Remember that the pan heat will continue to cook the eggs for a few more minutes after removing them from the heat. Therefore, removing the eggs while they are still slightly shiny and moist will yield better results. Serving the prepared eggs immediately ensures that the soft and creamy texture achieved with cottage cheese is best appreciated.
