Blackberry Margarita: A drink with a mysterious touch

As the days grow shorter and the leaves turn vibrant colors, our drink choices change too. Light summer spritzers give way to bolder flavors. This is where a drink that bridges the gap between a refreshing cocktail and an autumnal mood comes in.

Ingredients · Servings 2
  • 2 limes
  • Salt
  • 120 g fresh blackberries
  • 120 ml Tequila
  • 50 ml Triple Sec 🛒
  • ice cubes
Method · 10 min
  1. Moisten the rim of the glasses with a slice of lime. Then dip the rim in salt.
  2. Set aside a few of the blackberries and put the rest, along with the lime juice, into a blender. Blend the blackberries until smooth.
  3. Pour tequila, triple sec and the pureed blackberries into a cocktail shaker, add a few ice cubes and mix everything well for at least 20 seconds.
  4. Pour the contents of the shaker through a sieve into the glasses and fill them with ice cubes. Decorate the margaritas with the remaining blackberries.

Blackberry Margarita: dark, fruity and mysterious

The classic base of agave spirit and orange liqueur provides a strong foundation. Tequila adds an earthy note that harmonizes beautifully with ripe fruit. Triple sec contributes a delicate citrus sweetness. The real secret of this drink, however, lies in the dark berries. They give the Blackberry Margarita, a drink with a mysterious touch, not only its dramatic appearance but also a complex blend of sweetness and subtle acidity. Fresh lime juice accentuates this fruitiness and provides the necessary balance in the glass. A traditional salt rim is, of course, essential. The salt not only looks decorative but also enhances the perception of the sweet and fruity nuances on the tongue. This creates a well-rounded taste experience with every sip.

Preparation is easy and requires no professional bar equipment. For the fruity base, you blend the fresh berries together with the freshly squeezed lime juice.

Now comes the most important part for achieving the right temperature and texture. Place the prepared fruit puree, along with the tequila and triple sec, into a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker generously with ice cubes. Shake vigorously for about fifteen seconds. Then strain the mixture into the prepared glasses. Fresh ice cubes in the glass will keep the cocktail chilled for longer. As a finishing touch, place one or two whole berries on top of the ice. This way, you serve a drink that is a complete success, both visually and in terms of taste.

Enjoy a Rose Fizz or a Habanero Tequila Spritz at your next cocktail night.
