Pencil sandwiches
Pencil sandwiches are a cheerful and playful snack made with toast bread, young cheese, and salami, finished with honey, raisins, and a raspberry skewer. The recipe is simple: just slice, spread, and skewer—ideal for a children's party, lunch, or a summer picnic.
Ingredients · Servings 4
- 2 slices of toast bread
- 2 slices of young cheese
- 2 slices of salami
- 4 raisins
- 4 drops of honey
- 2 TL boter
- 12 raspberries
- 4 toothpicks
Method · 5 min
- Cut the crusts off the bread and cut each slice in half. Now, at the top of each piece of bread, cut two diagonal lines that meet to create a pointed end.
- Cut the rind off the cheese and place the cut slices of bread on it one by one. Cut the cheese around each slice of bread with a knife. The cut piece of cheese should cover the entire slice of bread, with the exception of the pointed triangle. Then cut 4 strips from the salami, 1 centimeter high and the same width as the pieces of bread. Finally, skewer 4 raspberries onto each toothpick.
- Start by assembling the pencil. Spread butter on the slices of bread, but keep the tip butter-free and place the slice of cheese on top. Spread some butter on the salami and place it on the end of the cheese. Put a drop of honey on the tip of each slice of bread and stick the raisin in place with it.
- Place all the pieces on a board and arrange a skewer with raspberries at the end of each pencil.
