- mangold, 500 g
- fine oatmeal, 150 g
- egg, 1 pc.
- garlic, 4 cloves
- smoked bacon, 100 g
- onion, 1 pc.
- ground black pepper
- salt
- oil (for frying)
Method · 1 h
- Scald the chard with boiling water, let it drain and blend.
- Cut the bacon into cubes, brown it and fry the chopped onion on it.
- Add the sautéed onion with bacon, flakes, egg, crushed garlic, pepper and salt to the chard and mix well. Let stand for about 30 minutes.
- Then check the consistency, it should be thick enough to shape into meatballs. If the mixture is too thin, add a little more flakes, mix and let it sit for a while.
- We shape the meatballs and fry them on both sides in oil.
- These meatballs can be served with vegetables or a vegetable salad. However, they are also suitable for stews.
