[Curry Uncle's New Curry Exploration (^o^)/]

Autumn is the season for hearty appetites. This month, I ate curry in various locations. This month's list focuses on restaurants that are more enjoyable if you're familiar with the original establishments, such as restaurants produced by popular restaurants, sister restaurants, and restaurants that have taken over the businesses of popular restaurants that have closed down. Here's a brief summary:

1. Keema curry mixed rice in Tachiaigawa

2. Dolphin Cottu in Asagaya

3. Krabi-style red curry and Dublin-style pork curry at Togoshi Park

4. Deer root vegetable keema and spiced obanzai in Imadegawa, Kyoto

If you find a restaurant that catches your eye, we recommend bookmarking it. Now, please enjoy this month's dazzling array of curries!

1. Cafe Momo

"Cafe Momo" opened on May 26, 2026, near Tachiaigawa Station.

Climbing the narrow staircase to the second floor, you'll find a spacious and relaxed shop with a fun, secret hideout-like atmosphere where retro and modern elements coexist.

They have a great selection of food as well as drinks, and I tried the mixed rice dish at Cafe Momo. If this mixed rice dish rings a bell, you're a serious curry enthusiast. It's a menu item from "256nicom," a famous restaurant in Nakayama, Chiba Prefecture, known for its exquisite curry and parfaits. That's because this is a restaurant produced by "256nicom." It's a one-plate dish with meat miso keema curry made with sweet bean paste and other ingredients on top of rice, surrounded by colorful side dishes, and meant to be mixed together as you eat. Since this is a cafe, the portion is lighter, but the taste is just as good as at "256nicom."

"256nicom" serves shaved ice in addition to parfaits during the summer, and they also have shaved ice here. I had the blueberry shaved ice topped with Gorgonzola milk. The shaved ice, served in a cute bowl, is simpler than the one at "256nicom," but the taste, which makes the most of the ingredients, is just as good. Due to its popularity, the shaved ice will be available until the beginning of October, but may be discontinued depending on the situation.

"256nicom" is a popular restaurant where reservations are often impossible to get, so it's great that you can enjoy its delicious food in Tokyo without a reservation. If you like both curry and sweets, you should definitely check it out.
