A woman's heartbreaking story about her in-laws has gone viral on Malaysian social media. The woman is upset because her in-laws prefer rice with eggs to her cooking.
Many tensions arise when a woman lives with her in-laws, whether over money, housework, or food. Recently, a Malaysian woman experienced an unpleasant situation with her in-laws.
Her story was shared via social media. The woman revealed that she usually prepared meals for the family living in the house. However, problems arose because her mother-in-law refused to enjoy any of the dishes she cooked, reports mstar.com.my (27/9).
"My mother-in-law has been living with my family since the beginning of last year because she was lonely after my father-in-law passed away," he explained.
The woman also explained that her husband was the only son her in-laws had, so she had to accommodate them even though the five of them were barely eating enough.
It's not that she doesn't want her in-laws to live in the house with her, but this woman feels sad because her in-laws don't want to eat the food that this woman cooks.
"Too picky," the woman continued describing her mother-in-law.
While they were eating together at the dining table, her mother-in-law went into her room to sleep. But, being a considerate daughter-in-law, the woman saved the cooked side dish for her mother-in-law to eat later.
Sadly, the food was left untouched. Instead, her in-laws would eat the rice with soy sauce. As a result, the stored food was left to spoil untouched.
"But in the end, the portion I saved for my mother-in-law went bad. Meanwhile, the kids ate with gusto. I should have just shared it with them," she said, disappointed.
This outpouring of her feelings invited various reactions from netizens on social media, with most asking her to be patient with her mother-in-law's attitude.
Some also suggested that this woman be honest with her mother-in-law and tell her about her difficulties, which led to her having to limit her daily side dishes. It would be a shame if the food she had cooked ended up spoiling.
"Maybe he's still grieving over the loss of his partner, so he doesn't always want to eat," commented another netizen.
Conflicts between daughters-in-law and mothers-in-law are common. Previously, a woman complained about the food she made for her future in-laws, which ended up being fed to the cat. Her mother-in-law claimed the food was unappetizing.
