Chicken Alfredo Recipe: Creaminess in every bite

The classic Italian dish has many variations, but none have turned out quite as well as this Chicken Alfredo recipe. That creamy, tempting sauce, usually served with pasta, specifically fettuccine, is a perfect match when topped with tender, well-cooked chicken.

Chicken Alfredo Recipe

This isn't the classic recipe; it's a modification that's been made over the years. But it stands out for its great flavor and, above all, because it gives it an even creamier and more tangy touch.

Ingredients:

  • 500g Chicken (portioned into 4 pieces)
  • 50 grams Butter
  • 200 ml Sour Cream
  • 150 grams Parmesan Cheese
  • ½ cup of Chicken Broth
  • ½ Onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 head of broccoli
  • 3 sprigs of parsley
  • Vegetable oil
  • Black pepper
  • Shall
  • Optional: Spaghetti or fettuccine.

Preparation:

  • Cut the broccoli into small pieces.
  • Cook the broccoli pieces in a saucepan of water. Drain and set aside.
  • For Alfredo sauce you need to melt the butter over medium heat in a medium-sized pan.
  • Sauté finely chopped garlic and onion until well cooked.
  • Add the chicken broth and sour cream and fully integrate all the flavors.
  • Cook over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Grate the Parmesan cheese and add it to the mixture. It will have a thicker texture.
  • Season with salt and pepper and set aside.
  • In a medium frying pan, add oil and sear the chicken on all sides.
  • Transfer the chicken breast to a baking tray, cover with Alfredo sauce and add the broccoli pieces.
  • Bake at 180°C for 20 minutes. The outside should be golden brown.
  • Let it rest before serving.
  • Sprinkle with a little finely chopped parsley.
  • You can serve this recipe with al dente pasta to make it even more substantial, almost like a complete meal.

Tips for improving the recipe

  • For perfectly cooked chicken, you need to consider the right cut. This will ensure quick and even cooking, making chicken breast the perfect cut.
  • To give the chicken more flavor, you can marinate the chicken for 8 hours in some fine herbs or just with thyme and olive oil.
  • Make sure the cooked chicken has an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F) to prevent food poisoning. Use a kitchen thermometer.
  • Don't forget to let the chicken rest for at least 5 minutes; this will give its internal juices a chance to redistribute.
  • For Alfredo sauce you can add an extra touch with nutmeg.
  • You can also substitute broccoli with sautéed mushrooms or fresh spinach.
  • If the sauce is too thick, you can add a little more chicken broth or cooking water, if you are preparing pasta.
