Ingredients
Method
procedure
- 1. [Rolled Chikuwa] Make a vertical cut in the chikuwa. Cut the sliced cheese in half. Point: Be careful not to cut all the way through.
- 2. Place the chikuwa lengthwise on a piece of plastic wrap, spread it out, place a slice of cheese on top, roll it up from the near end, wrap it in the plastic wrap, and twist both ends to secure it (chikuwa roll).
- 4. [Heart-shaped Chikuwa] Cut the chikuwa in half lengthwise. Cut the sliced cheese into four equal pieces lengthwise.
- 5. Place one piece of chikuwa with the inside facing down. Cut the slice of cheese in half lengthwise and place it in the middle of the chikuwa. Fold the chikuwa from both ends towards the center and secure it with a toothpick to form a heart shape. Make a total of four in the same way.
- 6. Arrange them in a heatproof dish, cover loosely with plastic wrap, and heat in a 600W microwave for about 30 seconds, checking occasionally. Let cool slightly. Point: Make sure they are heated through. If eating immediately, be careful of the toothpicks.
- 7. [Chikuwa Sausage] Cut the chikuwa into three equal parts. Cut the sausage in half lengthwise. Insert the sausage into the hole of the chikuwa so that about 5mm protrudes.
- 8. Make crisscross cuts on the cut surface of the sausage. (Note: It's difficult to keep it stable, so cut slowly and carefully.)
