Where to Sip the Best Non-Alcoholic Drinks in San Diego

Where to Sip the Best Non-Alcoholic Drinks in San Diego
From zero-proof spirits to house infusions, these mocktails have all of the vim and with none of the vigor of a regular cocktail.
What’s changed this update: New to the map this round are Books and Records, Cellar Hand, Polite Provisions, Roma Norte, Puesto, and the Lab Collaborative.
The Lab Collaborative
Just a short stroll from the beach, the Lab Collaborative in Oceanside has a breezy, welcoming vibe with an open kitchen, wood-burning oven, and plenty of patio space to kick back. The bar’s mocktails are just as thoughtful as its alcoholic drinks, like the Equinox, a bright mix of muddled blackberries, lemon, vanilla, and soda water. The No Fomo is an unexpected shake up with egg white, palm syrup, strawberry, lemon, and a mint garnish — bringing the kind of texture and balance usually reserved for boozy drinks.
Atelier Manna
Atelier Manna’s vitality tonics reflect the daytime restaurant’s commitment to local, seasonal ingredients. Just like the food, the drinks are thoughtfully crafted, rotating through ingredients that highlight the best of what’s available. From force-carbonated green tea with cardamom and lime leaf to the Maroon, where anise hyssop meets rosemary ginger, bitter orange peel, these drinks are as complex and beautifully prepared. Created by Chef Andrew Bachelier (Jeune et Jolie) and his wife Larah, the space is all about nourishment and creative self-expression.
Puesto
Puesto’s vibrant bar program goes beyond its substantial tequila line up, offering zero-proof drinks that don’t skimp on tenique. The Michelada is a standout, made with non-alcoholic Corona, house-made clamato, chamoy, mango, and fresh lime. As bold and refreshing as the original, making it an easy choice for anyone skipping the booze. Other non-alcoholic options include the Canterito, a take on the classic Jalisco street drink with orange cordial, fresh lime, and Jarritos grapefruit soda, plus Puesto’s house-made non-alcoholic tequila alternative. Even the margarita gets the zero-proof treatment, swapping in the same tequila alternative for a fresh, citrusy sip.
Paradisaea
Perched on the edge of Bird Rock, just south of La Jolla, Praidsaea offers a vibrant, upscale San Diego-style atmosphere with tropical hints — minus the tiki. Its new cocktail field guide, created in collaboration with Sacramento-based artist Lily Therns, features a special section dedicated to non-alcoholic cocktails inspired by flightless birds. The menu showcases spirit-free options from Ritual and Seedlip, complemented by fresh fruits and tonics. Notable drinks include the Ostrich, with Ghia (a fruit and bitters aperitif), blackberry, and lemon, and the vibrant Takahe, made with Seedlip Garden, Blue Majik, and coconut.
Miss B’s Coconut Club
On the bustling corner of Mission Beach, Miss B’s Coconut Club serves up Caribbean-inspired cocktails, many available in alcohol-free versions. Blend in with the crowd while sipping on Blackbeard’s Delight, a bold mix of pomegranate juice, bitter grapefruit, spicy ginger, and bright lemon. Or go for the Ed’s No Rum Runner, a refreshing blend of pineapple and orange cordial with kiwi, blackberries, and lime. A nod to Mission Beach’s colorful past, Miss B’s captures the spirit of a vintage tropics club, complete with turquoise banquettes, indoor-outdoor seating, and cozy fire pits.
Casa Gabriela
Bright, bold, and full of flavor — just like the menu — Casa Gabriela’s mocktails bring festive energy to La Mesa Village. Centered in the heart of the neighborhood, the restaurant’s joyful ambiance and airy garden patio make it a go-to spot day or night. Sip on a margarita sandia, made with Lyre’s non-alcoholic agave, fresh watermelon, and lime in a Tajín-rimmed glass, or try the creamy Niño’s Delight, a lush blend of coconut cream, prickly pear syrup, and lime with a salted rim. Whether you’re out with friends or on a date night, these vibrant drinks deliver all the flavor — no alcohol required.
Polite Provisions
Polite Provisions has always offered excellent non-alcoholic options, but its latest menu update brings them even more in line with the bar’s old-school soda fountain theme. New drinks like the Cinnamon Cherry Cola with Pentire Hemp & Root and the Cacao Strawberry with Feragaia — a Scottish alcohol-free spirit — are thoughtfully crafted, showcasing the same attention to detail as their boozy counterparts. Each can also be enjoyed as an ice cream float. With a refreshed space and the return of bar manager Frank McGrath, Polite Provisions stays true to both its history with a keem eye on future ambitions.
Cellar Hand
Cellar Hand celebrates California’s bounty with a beverage lineup that highlights hyper-local ingredients, including a thoughtful selection of non-alcoholic options. Just a short distance from the Hillcrest Farmers Market, the bar pulls in the freshest produce — bright citrus, fragrant herbs, and unique local flavors — bringing a sense of place to every drink. The Kavloma, a kava-infused, zero-proof cocktail made with Kava Haven from Monday Bottle Shop, blends lime, simple syrup, agave, Maldon salt, and sparkling qatari for a refreshing sip with a mellow edge. For something crisp and lightly sweet, the Sparkling Lychee Tea, created in collaboration with Coffee & Tea Collective, is poured fresh on tap — just one more way Cellar Hand keeps things local and intentional.
Botanica
At Botanica, non-alcoholic drinks are crafted with the same care as the breath of the menu. Fresh herbs, house-made bitters, and seasonal ingredients like fig leaf, kumquat oregano syrup, and grapefruit hibiscus shrub add depth and complexity to every decorative glass. The North Park bar embodies the botanical, with an on-site garden that often inspires the drinks, a small bite pintxos menu, and a walls adorned with digital works by local artists. Focused on creating layered, experiential beverages, this bar excels at making zero-proof drinks can be just as vibrant as their full-bodied counterparts.
Mnemonic Coffee
At this small, hip coffee shop, there’s often a line out the door — but it’s not just for the coffee. Here, you can enjoy zero-proof cocktails alongside expertly crafted caffeine. Try the Soy Libre, a fizzy mix of Coca-Cola, maple syrup, soy sauce, lime juice, and cinnamon, or the Pony Boy, with saffron syrup, grapefruit, and Topo Chico. For a unique twist, go for Ocean Eyes, a slightly sweet cardamom soda topped with blue jasmine foam and lemon zest. Owners Gia Giambalvo and Sarah Girdzius take great pride in their zero-proof offerings. The best seats in the house is at the tiled counter where you can watch the artists at work.
The Rose Wine Bar
With its aging wood floors, trestled ceiling, and vintage glass front arching toward the sky, The Rose exudes both charm and romance. This beloved San Diego wine bar is known for its stellar collection of natural wines, but its zero-proof offerings shine just as bright. Crafted with Lyre’s alcohol-free spirits, the Rosso Collins blends strawberry, citrus, and orgeat for a refreshing twist, while the Not an Aperol Spritz delivers the perfect bittersweet balance with an Amalfi bitters cordial.
Books & Records
At Books and Records, the library of beverages extends well beyond booze. This airy San Diego space — marked by tall exposed wood trestles and curved teal booths — serves up standout mocktails alongside the real deal. The restaurant is dog-friendly for those who can’t leave their pup behind; live music sets the vibe on Friday and Saturday nights. Sip on a Smoke on the Horizon (smoked vanilla, oat milk, cinnamon, walnut bitters) or keep it crisp with a Lemongrass Soda (lemongrass syrup, lime, sparkling water). And for a little something extra? Try the I Got Ube — a dreamy mix of ube-mint syrup, lemon juice, and bubbles.
Herb & Wood
At Herb & Wood, the mocktail menu is as thoughtfully crafted as the rest of the bar program. The Lemon & Herbs combines fresh lemon juice, roasted lemon and thyme syrup, grenadine, and soda for a bright, herbaceous sip. For something deeper, the H&W Ponche layers warming cinnamon and clove with tamarind, hibiscus, green apple, and pineapple — a drink that tastes like a summer night. Set around an open-frame bar under soaring industrial wood arches, with a fireplace-warmed, plant-filled atrium, the space is as inviting as the drinks themselves.
Kindred
South Park’s Kindred buzz never dies. Ideal for intimate dates, catching up with friends, or lingering over a solo drink at the bar. Its non-alcoholic “XXX” menu delivers the same high level of creativity as its cocktails and food: Try the Miracle Cure, a tropical goth creation with pineapple, lime, coconut, passionfruit, Thai basil, lemongrass, and a charcoal stain, or opt for the refreshing Bitter Death, a sparkling water spiked with bitters. With a cat-art-filled vibe, a lively atmosphere, and a dog-friendly patio, Kindred continues to stand out day and night.
Roma Norte
Roma Norte, San Diego’s new CDMX-inspired cocktail lounge, brings serious technique to its non-alcoholic drinks, treating them with the same precision as its boozy counterparts. The standout Taco Truck is a bold, smoky creation with house-made non-alcoholic mezcal, Giffard aperitif, and pineapple-cinnamon-infused Roots Divino. It’s layered, complex, and drinks like a proper cocktail — just without the booze. The Melón Highball is just as refined, blending Martini & Rossi Floreale with clarified cantaloupe, cucumber, and elderflower tonic for something bright and refreshing. Every NA option here gets the same careful attention, using methods like nitro muddling and lacto-fermentation to create drinks that feel just as thoughtful as anything on the menu.
Lime in the Coconut and X
Lime in the Coconut brings open-air tiki vibes to Chula Vista’s 3rd Avenue. A lively, family-friendly spot for tropical drinks — boozy or not. The Coco Loco blends freshly made coconut cream, almond orgeat, pineapple, and fresh-pressed lime for a rich and refreshing sipper. The Dragon Eye is a showstopper, with pitahaya purée, black pepper syrup, and fresh basil over pebble ice, glowing in a deep fuchsia hue. For a more intimate experience, head to the hidden speakeasy in the back (21 and older only), where the bartenders are just as skilled at crafting mocktails as they are at mixing cocktails.
