A Renovation at Chinese Restaurant Hakkasan Opens up the Dining Room at the MGM Grand on the Las Vegas Strip
More than two months after Hakkasan returned from hibernation due to the pandemic at the MGM Grand, the five-story Cantonese restaurant with a nightclub on top shows off some of the changes made inside. The project from Tao Group Hospitality and Hakkasan Group, which merged in April, gives the space a new look.
“With the reopening of Hakkasan … being our first significant endeavor since the acquisition of Hakkasan Group, we knew this was our opportunity to create a distinctive Hakkasan dining experience that could only be found in Las Vegas,” says Jason Strauss, co-CEO of Tao Group Hospitality. “We started that reimagination of Hakkasan Restaurant with a refreshed arrival experience upon entry to the main dining room and bar area, which have been opened up to give it a social and community environment. With a menu that we’ve rebuilt from the top down, Hakkasan … will now evolve to become that perfect pre-party, social gathering spot that we’ve envisioned it to become.”
Hakkasan also revamped its menu when it reopened in July. Hakkasan serves its modern Chinese dishes Wednesday through Saturday from 5:30 to 10:45 p.m. and Sunday from 5:30 to 9:45 p.m. The lounge is open those same hours.
