Stewed pears with white wine

Want to make stewed pears in white wine? That is definitely possible. This way, the pears retain their light color. Try the recipe from the Miljuschka Masterclass Christmas Edition.

Ingredients · Servings 4 people
  • 500 g stewing pears
  • 180 g granulated sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 orange
  • 750 ml white wine
Method · 15 min
  1. Peel the pears and slice the orange.
  2. Mix the white wine, sugar, cloves, orange, and cinnamon stick together.
  3. Place the pears upright in a large pan and add just enough of the wine mixture until the pears are submerged.
  4. Bring the pan of stewed pears gently to a boil. Stew the pears with the lid on the pan (over low heat) for about 3 hours until tender.
