Famed Seattle Bakery Piroshky Piroshky is Popping Up in Nashville
Seattle’s legendary Piroshky Piroshky is making yet another stop in Nashville to deliver its famous baked goods to locals. Founded at Pike Place Market in 1992, the Eastern European bakery — named one of “The 20 Most Iconic Food Destinations Across America” by Smithsonian Magazine — specializes in piroshki, yeasted buns with sweet and savory fillings ranging from rhubarb to beef and cheese.
You can pre-order online until 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, and choose from the bakery’s entire menu, which includes a large variety of piroshki as well as other bestsellers like hand-braided cinnamon and cardamom bread, jalapeno-cheddar sausage rolls, and chocolate cream hazelnut rolls. The order minimum is $50 and can be picked up on December 12 at Fait La Force Brewing (1414 3 Avenue S).
Tailor turns five with a four-day feast
Chef Vivek Surti will celebrate five years of his intimate South Asian dinner experience with a four-day dining series at his Germantown restaurant. “Dinner with Mom,” kicks off the series — on December 7, Surti’s mother will guide the menu and conversation throughout the evening. The following three days will feature a roster of Tailor’s greatest hits over the past five years, with a special tequila pairing dinner on December 8. Cost is $125 per person (the tequila pairing dinner is $175 per person) — reservations can be made here.
A tale of two tea parties
Shake the chill off our cooler December days and enjoy a warm cup of tea with all the trimmings at two Nashville hotels. Blue Aster at the Conrad is hosting a Grinch afternoon tea every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout December from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. The experience includes loose-leaf tea, scones, pastries, tea sandwiches, and a glass of bubbly for $85 per person ($40 for children 10 and under). Reservations can be made here.
Over at Holston House, Santa Tea will be available on certain Sundays throughout the holiday season and includes a 90-minute tea with Santa featuring hot cocoa, a variety of local artisanal teas, holiday treats, and pictures with St. Nick himself. Ticket prices for children are $35 and $55 for adults.
New chef bulletin: Shelby Briggs at Sinema

She’ll be taking the reins from the Melrose restaurant’s opening chef Kyle Patterson after announcing his departure to pursue other endeavors.
